What is carbon facial?
The “Laser Facial” treatment described is a two stage process which:-
Freshens the complexion by removing the outer layers of dead skin cells from the clients face
Gradually reduces the skin’s pore size and reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
Often Blackheads and Whiteheads are removed by this technique
There is no downtime for the client who can return to normal activities immediately after the treatment
Aftercare advice
Although the client should have no immediate after effects and can return to normal activities they should look after the treated skin in the following way:
• Makeup can be applied within 2 hours
• Client should moisturise the skin frequently
• Client should stay out of strong sunlight or use a high SPF sunscreen
• For 24 – 48 hours Client should avoid very hot baths or showers – use tepid water & pat dry don’t rub!
• A collagen face mask at night can enhance the reduction of fine lines
Treatment regime
• The Carbon Laser Facial is often used as a “one off” treatment to freshen the complexion of a client going to a special event such as a wedding
– The treatment is usually carried out a week in advance
• Alternatively a series of treatments can be offered when regeneration of collagen can occur
– This is usually carried out as 1 or 2 treatments per month for at least 6 months
– Must leave 2 weeks between treatments
